Some of you may have seen this piece already, but I thought it would be cool to post it and invite people to comment. Shout out to Cesar who posed for this! (no it’s not Obama)

I loved this piece when I saw it at your show in NY in October. You have an interesting way of displaying how ppl feel everyday. You work and work and work until you die….or become a robot….or even suffocate in dreams that you never fulfilled…..you stretch yourself beyond your limits for a suit and tie, maybe even a fly pair of pumps (which would be my choice, lol)! he looks like one more oxford shirt and tie and his head will explode, lol! keep up the good work in this playground we call life:)

ha! i asked kevin if that was obama when I saw it online before your show. Cesar should be flattered. I enjoyed seeing this piece at your show, especially in the context of your other work because we were able to see the regular portraits with little emotion next to this one. I really like how his neck isn’t just stretched all the way up, but you have multiple ties which just adds to that feeling of uniformity and conformity and day-to-day life. I definitely identify with it on the job level, but also speaks in so many ways to people who are trying to break the glass ceiling even on the job, come out of the closet, impossibly live up to parents or dreams that belong to someone else, or struggling to find the courage to do what they want to do. yeah… but overall, pretty crappy piece i hated it.
