Today, I (Reynolds) went to visit Harlem Day Charter School. I was asked by my buddy, Lacresha Berry, to come and share some poems with her fifth grade class. Needless to say, it was super. We (as in, I) tend to forget that respectful, astute children still exist, which reminds us that parenting still happens, and teachers like Ms. Berry are still dedicated.
Some highlights:
A young man reads a love poem. Saucy, saucy. His classmates laugh, but the poems was really good. I teased them all about being jealous. That young man…won. HA!
A young lady describes her grandmother’s hair as cotton candy. Whoa. If you happen to somehow, someday read this…PLEASE KEEP WRITING.
And of course, the question, “How tall are you?” My response, “6’2”” Their response, “ DANNNNNNNNNNNNG!”

what’s up jason this is the girl who was sitting in the middle row next to the door. since i was to shy to speak when you were in my class now would be the perfect time for me to tell you that your poetry is a gift from your ancestors and that you are very well at what you do . and thank you for your time. in our classroom. thanks alot hope to see you again!!!
