So, the other night, Griffin, Terrence and I were up late yapping about life, while flick flick flicking through all of the “paid programming” that runs at 3:30 in the morning. Finally we landed on an awesome Japanese show, “Ninja Warrior,” where people basically test their ninja skills! Wayyyyy cool. But the real excitement came after.
There’s a show called “Unbeatable Banzuke (pronounced, Bahn ZOO kay).” What’s that you ask. Well, its hard to explain. It’s kinda like an obstacle course show. On crack. And smack. Just look at the pics below.
(Exhibit A)
What you see in the above picture, is a young man, falling off a unicycle. That’s right, a unicycle. He was expected to do the whole obstacle course, ON A UNICYCLE!!! Notice the caption, “Oh! It clipped him!” I can’t even begin to tell you how funny this was. My St. Patty’s day beer, almost became a snot shot!
(Exhibit B)
What you are seeing here, is a shirtless man, with a helmet, on a pogo stick. Again, he was expected to go all the way through this crazy course, on a pipe with handlebars! Notice the caption on this one, “His balance looks strong and steady.”
If I could only have gotten the camera to snap in time, I would’ve shown you that, well, his balance didn’t look so strong after about four more bounces. It was more like…well…good thing he was wearing a helmet.
But for the three of us, Griffin, Terrence and I, we learned some valuable lessons.
1. The Banzuke, really is unbeatable, but mainly because the expectations are outrageous.
2. That’s perfectly fine with us, at 3:30 in the morning.

I’ve been studying Judo for ten years, but after only two weeks of pogo training I’m a master!
