Today we got a phone call from, HarperCollins, our publishers. It was strange, a different kind of phone call. There was excitement on the other end. Not that they usually call us with a barrage of negativity, but it’s never with excitement. It’s usually more along the lines of, “Guys, this is good, and I think you’re getting close, but…” which in turn results in a spray of expletives that fly across the room, splashing against the wall, Pollack style.
But today, it was a different kind of phone call. Today, there was excitement on the other end. Excitement in their voices. Excitement! Today, they called to say we were done. The book was complete. We had done it.
“Guys, this time, you hit the nail right on the head! ”
Now, we rest.
